World Tourist Places Made Up of Natural Eternal Flames
scientifically, the chestnut ridge park flame is as a cause of ethane and propane. but with researches, the science of chestnut ridge is that the flames source is enclosed either by a rock or by sand because the ground is not hot enough to ignite the gas and keep it burning. the parks property was acquired by eric county in 1926 and was the first for county to establish.
2. The Brennender Berg( burning mountain)
History recorded that the fire was set by a shepherd at a tree stump which penetrated the roots to the seam of the underground coal, where cracks are seen glowing out of rocks thereby building up smokes. due to rainfall and changes in weather, the smoke and light has reduced.
This unpredictable natural phenomenon makes this mountain a tourist area and/or destination for school trips and excursions. johann wolfgang von goethe's visit was the first tourism held at brennender berg in 1770 and a commemorative plaque records the event which he later explained that a strong sulphur smell enveloped him,with a reddish colour glowing which has roasted the rocks, adding that he felt the hotness despite the thick sole shoes he worn.

The water and fire cave is one of the seven most naturally made wonders in the world, and its situated in guanziling, in tainan city's baihe district. because of the most fantastic mud volcanoes and natural spring in this country,the geology of the place tends to release methane gas from cracks and faults, of which liuchong river runs through those faults bobbling out fire from the methane gas...
The incompatibility of the fire and water inside a cavry surrounding rock makes it a wonderful and tourist area in the world.one might not even think its a real fire till getting closer and feeling the heat of the fire.
practically, the flame has decreased but still impressive. records says the site was discovered by a monk in 1701,which entails that the flame has been burning continuously for years over.
4.Burning Mountain
This mountain is mount wingen but commonly called burning mountain. The mount is situated in new south wales, australia,224 km north of sydney off new england highway(approximately). its name was as a result of spontaneous combustion from a smouldering coal seam running underground through a sandstone.
the mountains blaze moves at a rate of about 1 meter each year due south.from when the flame started, it can be estimated that the fire has moved 6 kilometer, which makes it the oldest coal fire known since days.the fires combustion has caused a lot of damage to the soil including discolouring the soil,thereby making the ground an uneven surface.
this wonderful scenario has made it a beautiful tourist arena for people to visit
5.The Eternal Fire of Baba Gurgur


Turkmen baba(father) and gur (fiery flowing fire) is the derivation of the name baba gurgur.This fire is as a result of the percolation of natural gas through rocks.legendary has it that the fire was used by early shepherds to warm themselves and their sheeps during cold weather,and that women hoping for sons normally visits the fire but stays a bit far because of the flames emission of hydrogen sulphide gas.
Historical,the fiery furnace of this fire, was mentioned in the book of daniel, chapter 3 in the old testament in which the babylonian king(nebuchadnezzar)threw 3 hebrews that refused to worship his golden idol statue.
For years back till date,the natives and residents of kirkuk has used this natural asphalt at baba gurgur for their homes,roads, and other relevant/valuable things. The visibility of the flame attract visitors and tourists to kirkuk,thereby making it a very suitable tourist center for far and nearby countries like iraq.
6.The Jwalamukhi Temple

The jwalamukhi temple is located a town named jwalamukhi in kangra district of india, himachal pradesh.
The legendary of the existence of this temple is very brutal. it manifested when prajapati daksha humiliated his daughter sati at a party, causing the princess to set herself ablaze so as to indulge the shame putted by her father. she was in love with the god of death(lord shiva), the god in anger for her lover's death, trying to retaliate cuts off the king's head and wandered with his loves burnt body over the universe. in that process of wandering, lord shiva cuts satis body and unfortunately, her tongue landed at jwalamukhi temple and her power set there ablaze in flame.
The temple was later named and dedicated to "The Goddess Of Light". people of jwalamukhi worshipped the flame as a deity, the bluish colour of the flame from afar makes it a great tourist centre and people comes from near and far to bring gifts to the goddess.
though tourists comes from time to time, but the best visiting time is between september and october when colourful fairs are held during the navratri celebration.
7.The Mrapen Flame




This flame existed as a result of natural geological activities.it is located in manggarmas village, godong district ,central java in indonesia . This flame evolved from leaking of natural gas from the ground.Traditionally, the light existed through sunan kalijaga, when his followers got tired at the end of a very long journey,they decided to stop and get some rest at the mrapen village when they felt cold. Sunan kalijaga been the leader miraculously stuck his stick into the ground,pulled it out and behold flame bursts out to warm them.
The sacredness of the flame in javanese culture,made it a very good source of light for eternal flame torches for indonesia sports tournaments.
As from then till date, the flame has never been put off despite rains and winds. it has also been used for ceremonies and tourism till date.
